At Rita B. Huff Humane Society, we believe that every animal deserves love, safety, and a second chance at life. Since 1984, our mission has been made possible through the kindness of people like you. As a Texas-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization we rely entirely on donations, community support, and dedicated volunteers to continue our lifesaving work.

Ways to Give

Compassion comes in many forms, and every contribution—whether it’s a financial donation, much-needed supplies, or your time—helps us care for homeless and abandoned animals in need. Over the years, we have been blessed with gifts as small as $1 and as large as over a million dollars!  No matter the amount, each donation carries the same heart and generosity.

We have received:

  • Birthday donations from children who chose to give their gifts to help our shelter pets.
  • Community donations of food, blankets, and supplies.
  • Memorial donations honoring the lives of cherished pets and loved ones who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
  • Honorary donations celebrating the companionship of pets, family members, and friends still with us.

Your tax-deductible donation directly funds veterinary care, expands shelter services, strengthens volunteer programs, and—most importantly—helps us save lives.

Did you know that simply shopping for groceries can help support our shelter? By enrolling in the Kroger Community Rewards Program, a percentage of your purchases will be donated to Rita B. Huff Humane Society—at no extra cost to you!

How to Enroll:

  1. Register your Kroger Plus Card online.
  2. Sign in using your Kroger online account.
  3. Go to Account Options → Savings → Kroger Community Rewards.
  4. Select “Link Your Card to an Organization” and search for Rita B. Huff Humane Society (Organization Number UH498).
  5. Select and save!

Sponsorship Opportunities

At Rita B. Huff, we never hesitate to provide the veterinary care needed to help our animals heal and thrive. You can help by sponsoring funds specifically for medical care, spay/neuter services, vaccinations, or microchipping.

At any given time, we are treating:

  • Kittens and adult cats recovering from illnesses.
  • Puppies and dogs in our isolation area being treated for diseases, parasites, and medical conditions.

These lifesaving treatments—as well as vital shelter improvements—are only possible through generous donations from compassionate supporters like you. Whether you give a small contribution or a major gift, every penny counts!
